It was lights out at TD Garden on Monday night.
The venue went dark during the first period of the Beanpot championship game between Boston College and Boston University when the overhead lights abruptly turned off , according to the New England Sports Network (NESN). RELATED:Boston College, Boston University meet in 2016 Beanpot title game Monday The power outage – which occurred with 8:53 left on the time clock – caused players to stop as TD Garden staff investigated the problem.
According to Boston.com, power elsewhere in the building did not seem to be affected and the scoreboard, advertising boards and electricity in the pressbox kept working. Both teams left the ice and returned once the lights came back on, NESN reported. The delay was about 28 minutes.
