MBTA officials have already said, and local researchers agreed, that service cuts and fare increases could put more drivers back in their cars and on the roads.

While the health impacts that more cars on the road could have on Bostonians is frightening enough, take a look at this photo of what just 60 extra cars on the road could look like.

OK, we admit, this photo is from Germany, but a car is a car. And in Germany, their cars are probably smaller than ours.

If just 60 people who are affected by decreased bus services get back on the road and drive to work looks this bad, imagine what it could look like if the hundreds of thousands of daily riders the MBTA expects to lose turn back to their four-wheeled modes of transportation.
