13-year-old missing after running away from psychiatric care

A 13-year-old girl from Lowell named Cyndell Martin has gone missing after she ran away from Pathways, a Haverhill facility contracted by the state’s Department of Children and Families, CBS reports.
Her aunt, who has primary custody of the young girl, explained she gave the teenager to the DCF for psychiatric care.
Martin has been missing for a week now, the longest she’s ever been gone.
“Gath said Martin has run away from the program several times in the past, but was only gone those times for a period of about 24-48 hours before police saw her and brought her back,” CBS explained.
According to NECN Haverhill Police are “aware that Cyndell is missing and have put her information into the NCIC database listing her as a runaway. That way, if any other police agency finds her, they’ll know she is a runaway and return her to Pathways.”
