A Lawrence man was charged with heroin trafficking after troopers discovered two kilograms of heroin in a "secret compartment" of his car, state police said.
Trooper Daniel Hartley stopped the man on Monday on I-93 in Stoneham after the trooper observed him driving erratically.
The man first identified himself as Rolando Garcia and stated that he had no license. Officials said that he gave a fake ID and was subsequently placed under arrest.
During booking at the state police barracks in Medford, fingerprint results showed that Garcia was actually Elias Suarez-Guerrero, a 29-year-old Lawrence man, authorities said.
Hartley, along with Trooper David Nims and his K-9 parner Echo, further investigated Suarez-Guerroro's vehicle and found the drugs in a secret compartment.
