Boston Marathon survivor Rebekah Gregory DiMartino made an appearance on the Friday night season finale of “Say Yes to the Dress,” the hit TLC show that follows brides-to-be as they shop for their dream wedding dress.

Gregory DiMartino, 27, lost her left leg earlier this year, after enduring 16 reconstructive surgeries. Her now-husband Pete DiMartino, and her son Noah, were at the April 15, 2013 marathon to cheer on Pete’s mother.

“I could hear Noah saying ‘Mommy Mommy Mommy,’” Gregory DiMartino said on Friday’s night’s episode. “So I lifted up my hand to try and pull him over to me and I noticed that I had two exposed bones sticking out. At that point I felt completely helpless as a mom because I couldn’t protect my son. Pete was laying right net to me and I said ‘I love you’ and I really thought that was the last time I would ever be able to say that to him.”

Gregory DiMartino married her husband in April. Last month, she had her leg amputated below the knee. She now wears a prosthetic limb, and is planning to run in the 2015 Boston Marathon.

Following bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s appearance in federal court Thursday, DiMartino posted on Facebook about her upcoming testimony at the terror trial.

“Pray for the jury that has to decide something so horrific and to give each survivor who has to testify (including myself) peace and strength beyond measure to stand and look in the face of our enemy.

April 15, 2013 wasn’t just a news story. For those affected, it’s the rest of our lives,” she said.
