COPS: Bus Driver Beats Revere Man
The MBTA has suspended, without pay, a bus drive charged with beating commuter Matthew Theisz, of Revere, in Lynn’s Central Square.
Theisz says he approach 40-year-old Derek Smith to ask for help finding a bus home when things got nasty.
“He just stomped on me and kicked me in the head,” Theisz told The Globe. “He beat the crap out of me and left me there.”
Smith, hired four years ago, is being held without bail on assault charges. A hearing is set for next week.
Theisz, 43, is being treated in hospital for a brain hemorrhage.
