Skiers mark your calendars.

Starting Wednesday, Metro Boston is unveiling expanded ski coverage and a weather report on mountain conditions.

Our weekly package will include insights and overviews from ski writer Eric Wilbur, a noted Boston-based sports columnist who knows the mountains of New England like no other. Each week Wilbur will explore New England’s frostiest peaks, providing tips for getting your kids on the slopes, advice for skiers looking to find that perfect rush and highlighting some of the ski world’s biggest events of the season.

Metro’s own meteorologist John Bolaris will also be reporting on New England’s ski conditions, anticipated snowfall and any prime (or dismal) weather surprises in store for your upcoming weekend away.

“Many of Metro readers are avid or aspiring skiers and this give us an opportunity to serve them with great information and truly useful advice,” said Metro’s editor-in-chief Frank Burgos.

You’ll find the ski report in Metro’s features section every Wednesday.
