The Nantucket Film Festival announced its final lineup and honorees today, including “Saturday Night Live” great Molly Shannon, who will receive the Compass Rose Acting Award. Shannon will receive the honor from actor Michael Ian Black during a panel conversation titled “In Their Shoes” with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. The award celebrates an actor’s ability to tell cinematic stories, and Shannon follows in the footsteps of Vera Farmiga, Robert Duvall and Meg Ryan. Meanwhile, Loki Films’ Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady will take home Special Achievements in Documentary Storytelling Award for “Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You,” the festival’s centerpiece film.
