Although teachers and students in Boston’s Public School system can rejoice today over another school cancellation, the rest of the city must suck it up and somehow make it into town for work.

The MBTA resumed all services this morning, but not without giving their customers a fair warning to expect delays and disruptions as the system gets moving again. They made good on that warning today, with across the board reports of signal problems, disabled trains and a suspicious package.

For those driving into the city today, MassDOT has a few words of wisdom:

-Before leaving home be sure to remove all snow and ice from your vehicles, falling snow and ice poses a hazard to all motorists.

-Visibility is reduced due to the height of snow banks in many locations, exercise extreme caution merging and yielding onto highways, especially on routes that allow for breakdown lane travel.

-Reduce speeds on on-ramps and off-ramps. Maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.

-Crews are working continuously to remove snow from shoulders and breakdown lanes. Drivers should be aware that in some areas the shoulder may still be snow covered and the width of right travel lanes may be reduced due to snow.

-Limit mobile phone use and other distractions.

-Allow extra time for your commute.
