Police responded to reports of gunfire on a rooftop in Brownsville last night that ended with a 16-year-old shot three times.

A uniformed sergeant and officer deployed to the two adjoining roofs beside 2292 Atlantic Avenue, and shot a 16-year-old boy armed with a Ruger revolver.

The boy was shot in the left arm, right arm, and right ankle.

Police report he is in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital.

The officers also took a 22-year-old accomplice into custody.

Neither officer was shot, but both were taken to Jamaica Hospital to be treated for tinnitus.

Charges are pending, police say.
