A woman found suffering from a life-threatening illness inside an apartment building last week has died adding to the mystery surrounding a string of fatalities at the Roslindale building.

The unidentified woman was being treated at Brigham and Women’s Hospital since emergency crews found her last Thursday, but she died on Monday, Boston police said.

She was one of three people who died after emergency crews found them severely ill inside Roslyn Apartments within hours of each other last week.
Authorities said Wednesday that they still do not know what caused the deaths.

“No determinations have been made at this point and we expect additional medical investigation will be helpful in that regard,” said Jake Wark, a spokesman for the Suffolk County district attorney’s office. Wark added that authorities have not had other incidents at the building since the emergency calls last week and that there does not appear to be an active threat to public safety.

Investigators are waiting for the results of specialized testing, which could take several weeks, Wark said.

Boston police said homicide detectives are still investigating.

Officers were first called to one 1 Cliffmont St., just before 11 a.m. Feb. 13 for a man in cardiac arrest. The man, who was in his 60s, was pronounced dead on scene.

Police were called back to the building at 5:30 a.m. Feb. 14 and found another man who died. Officers found him lying in the hallway of the first floor, police said. He was also pronounced dead at the scene.

About four hours later police responded again to the building for a woman suffering from unknown life-threatening injuries.

In each of the deaths, police said there were no visible injuries or trauma observed on the victims.

At the time of the incidents Boston police Superintendent-in-Chief Dan Linskey said that detectives are investigating whether the three consumed something that led to their deaths, according to WCVB.

Roslyn Apartments consists of 119 one- and two-bedroom apartments, according to the Boston Housing Authority website.

“Roslyn is a warm, welcoming community that offers a variety of living arrangements for low- and moderate-income elderly and disabled persons,” according to the authority’s website.
