Police: NJ 4-year-old accidentally shoots 6-year-old
Police in Toms River, N.J., say a 4-year-old child accidentally shot his 6-year-old neighbor in the head with a .22-caliber rifle.
The incident happened about 7 p.m. Monday in the yard of the property where the 4-year-old child lives, the Asbury Park Press reports.
It remained unclear whether the 4-year-old child pulled the trigger or if the firearm accidentally discharged.
The victim was in stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Monmouth County.
