Man charged with DUI for allegedly driving into Rehoboth Taco Bell
State police have cited a Delaware man with driving under the influence after he allegedly crashed his car into a Rehoboth Taco Bell Saturday night.
Police said it was around 11:45 p.m. when 60-year-old Gregory Pflug, of Rehoboth Beach, drove his 2011 Honda Pilot through the drive-through of the Taco Bell at 19010 Coastal Highway.
But after Pflug received his order and drove around the building to leave, he allegedly accelerated suddenly.
Police said Pflug crashed through a flower bed and an outdoor seating area before slamming into the northeast corner of the Taco Bell building.
He allegedly got out of his car and tried to run away but was followed by witnesses, then arrested by state troopers.
No injuries were reported but an inspection of the Taco Bell revealed the building is unable to be safely occupied until structural repairs are made, according to police.
Pflug was issued a traffic summons and is charged with driving under the influence, failing to have insurance identification, speed exhibition, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and failing to provide information at the scene of a property damage crash.
