Robotics demos part of Philly Tech Week
Drexel University was the center of the robotics world in Philadelphia for a few hours Monday.
The Philly Robotics Expo, which was sponsored by Drexel University, was a one-day robotics demonstration and workshop geared toward kindergarten through 12th grade students.
This is the third year it’s been an event involved with Philly Tech Week, which is a weeklong celebration of technology and innovation in Philadelphia, according to its website.
“Robotics is the greatest example of learning by doing,” said Youngmoo Kim, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Drexel.
“You learn because you want it to do something when you push something, not because you want to get the right answer on a test.”
Drexel engineering students, as well as Central High School students, demonstrated their inventions with displays of autonomous programming and robot driving lessons.
