VIDEO: Police seek kids accused of trading off gun during assaults

Police are looking for a group of juveniles accused of wreaking havoc in Tioga on Monday, threatening at least two people with a handgun and jumping on the hood of an SUV.

The teens allegedly handed off the gun between them as the crimes occurred.

Investigators said a 27-year-old man was walking on the 3300 block of North 16th Street in Tioga around 6:45 p.m. when he was approached by a group of unknown juveniles.

One of the teens reached into his backpack, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim, saying, “Hey, buddy.”

The victim ran into a house and called 911.

The suspects fled south on 16th Street toward Allegheny Avenue.

A juvenile was captured on surveillance video twenty minutes prior approaching a woman and leveling a gun at her.

The woman put her hands up as if she was being robbed, but continued walking from the area.

Another man suddenly appeared, took the handgun from the juvenile and walked east on Ontario Street.

That man dropped to one knee and pointed the handgun in the direction of a group of males walking toward him.

Some of the men were seen on camera pressing against a wall, as if they feared they were going to be shot.

The gunman then ran toward the males and joined them, gun in hand, at 16th and Ontario streets.

Police said the group hung out on the corner for several minutes, then jumped on the hood of an SUV as it stopped at a stop sign.

The teens proceeded to walk south on 16th Street, where they encountered the 27-year-old victim.

One suspect is described as a 4-foot-9-inch tall black male between the ages of 10 and 12 with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt with white writing, blue shorts and green sneakers and carrying a multicolored backpack.

Police said the suspect is wanted for questioning about the firearm.

The other suspects are described as two 5-foot-5-inch to 5-foot-7-inch tall black males between the ages of  14 and 16.

One of the teens was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, black and white sneakers and carrying a red backpack.

The other teen has close-cut hair on the sides and was last seen wearing a red zip-up hooded sweatshirt, camouflage pants and black and white sneakers.
