Zubeidat Tsarnaeva: Bombing suspects’ mother believes marathon was staged, says ‘America took my kids away’

Zubeidat Tsarnaev told CNN’s Nick Paton Walsh in Makhachkala, Dagestan, that she believes the tragedy that killed three people and injured dozens more was staged and that the bombing was fake.

In recent interviews with reporters, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, the mother of Boston bombing suspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaeva, insists her sons are not responsible for the Patriot Day attacks, and claims that the U.S. is responsible for taking her sons away.

“Why did I even go there. Why? I thought America is going to protect us, our kids, it’s going to be safe… But it happened opposite. My kids… America took my kids away from me. Only America,” said the visibly distraught mother during a press conference in Russia Thursday.

When asked if believes now that her sons were responsible for planting the bombs, she said, “I am sure that my kids were not involved in anything… No I don’t, and I won’t. Never.”

During a one-on-one interview with CNN from her home in Dagestan, Tsarnaeva said she hasn’t seen the graphic photographs taken at the explosion site on Boylston Street, however insinuates that blood captured in the images may be red paint.

“I saw a very, very interesting video last night that the marathon was something, like, a really big play. There is like paint instead of blood… like there is made up something.”

When asked if she believed the whole thing is a show, she said “That’s what I want to know, because everyone is talking about it. That this is a show.”

Three people were killed in the attack, and 264 were injured – some of whom lost their limbs.

It is unclear whether Tsarnaeva will return to the United States, although the suspects’ father, Anzor Tsarnaeva, has said he will make the trip.

The mournful mother told CNN she was unable to describe her pain, saying only “This is really crazy I cant even describe it. I have no strength. I have nothing. I have no sleep. I am just like dead, like a dead person.”
