A bikini bar in Hell’s Kitchen is the last place you’d expect to attend a sermon, but it’s the location of a British atheist group’s first stateside meeting.

The Sunday Assembly, a “godless congregation” founded by comedians Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans, will transform Tobacco Road in Manhattan into a meeting place for fellow atheists later this month, the Daily News reported.

With a strong base in London, the duo has been told to expect opposition to their message once they reach the States.

“Lots of people are giving us warnings that it’s going to be different over there, but so far, we’ve just had a lot of support from the people in America,” Jones told the Daily News.

Jones and Evans founded the group after a road trip brought them to the realization that atheists were missing a community to bring them together.

Despite warnings about bringing their message to America, The Sunday Assembly’s visit has already sparked the interest of local atheists.

“I missed the easy access to doing good work and helping others,” Michael Trollan told the News. “And maybe the best thing about churches is the sense that when you show up, you’re immediately welcomed.

Though the group has no ties to religion, the founders have molded the structure of their congregation around the infrastructure of Christian churches. Their monthly meetings include speakers and music that promote the congregation’s message to “live better, help often and wonder more.”

The Sunday Assembly will bring their message to Manhattan on June 30 at Tobacco Road on 41st St. in Hell’s Kitchen.
