Video: Naked acrobat attacks commuters in a San Francisco subway (NSFW)

Update: This man was arrested Monday for this incident. Full story here.

Video emerged Monday showing a sweaty naked man attacking several travelers at a San Francisco BART subway station last month.

The man, who is fully nude and sporting a large afro, is seen tackling several passengers, including one terrified woman who is forced to the ground by the assailant.

The woman manages to escape as passersby call for help, then tearfully takes shelter in an employee booth.

His bizarre behavior continues over the next few minutes, and includes but is not limited to: blade kicking, writhing around on the ground, doing air splits and jumping from turns style to turn style as bewildered commuters pass through.

He seems to like it up there, as he is also seen doing handstands on the turn styles.  The man was identified as 24-year-old acrobat Yeiner Perez Garizabalo, according to a report by the San Fransisco Chronicle.

A source who identified himself as Slim Chance, the leader of Berkeley circus troupe ClownSnotBombs, said Perez Garizabalo was a member until early May, and that the episode was out of character.

“He’s been through a lot of stress — he seems to have been having a breakdown. That seems to be the tip of it right there. I just can’t tell you anything more because I don’t really know what his state is. It’s not at all like his normal character.”

Chance told The Chronicle that Perez Garizabalo, normally a “workaholic acrobat,” stopped showing up to the group’s practices several days before the episode.

“I don’t think it was anything with drugs,” Chance said. “I don’t know. We’re thinking he may have even had a stroke sometime last year. We’ve been trying to piece it together ourselves.”
