Grenade found in donation box at Camden charity
A Camden County bomb squad safely removed a hand grenade found inside a donation box at Camden Rescue Mission Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators are attempting to determine whether the grenade could have exploded, according to multiple reports.
Camden County police officers, along with Camden firefighters and Camden Sheriff’s Office bomb squad, responded to South Broadway mission, which supplies food, clothing and furniture to the homeless and people displaced by fires, on a report that a possible grenade had been discovered there.
Police closed down a stretch of South Broadway for several hours while investigating.
