A third man is set to be formally charged in connection with the Aaron Hernandez murder probe.

Ernest Wallace, 41, of Miramar, Florida, will be arraigned Monday at 2 p.m. in Attleboro District Court on a charge of accessory to murder after the fact, according to Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter. Police said Wallace said he turned himself after his wanted poster was released, telling officials in Miramar “that he saw his name in news reports and knew he had a warrant for his arrest.”

The charge relates to the June 17 homicide of Odin L. Lloyd, 27, a Dorchester man who was fatally shot near Hernandez’s North Attleboro home. The former New England Patriots tight end, 23, was released from the team and formally charged with the murder on June 19. Prosecutors told a judge in Fall River that Hernandez allegedly took Lloyd on a drive with two other people and shot him five times, execution-style.

Sutter said the investigation was ongoing, and declined to comment further on Wallace’s alleged involvement.

A second man, Carlos Ortiz,  was arrested on June 26 for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting.

After Wallace’s arrest, Sutter said he believed that the three people in the silver Nissan Altima when Lloyd entered it were in custody.
