Human remains found on Neponset River banks in Hyde Park
State Police are investigating today after the remains were discovered on the banks near Truman highway in Hyde Park late last night, according to Suffolk District Attorney Jake Wark. Boston Police first responded to the scene, and said the remains appear to be that of an adult.
“Given the condition of the remains, identification is expected to take some time, as is the Medical Examiner’s determination as to cause and manner of death,” said Wark.
The location of the remains is on Department of Conservation and Recreation property, so the investigation will be led by State Police detectives assigned to the Suffolk DA’s office, who have jurisdiction over death investigations on State Property inside the City of Boston.
Investigators will comb through missing persons reports, which is protocol in cases where human remains are discovered.
