The NYPD is looking for a Japanese woman who was reported missing yesterday by her husband.

Her husband, still in Japan, reportedly told police that he last heard from her on Tuesday when she called asking for money.

Ayako Sato, 47, is from Niigata City in Japan. Police say she first came to the United States through California on May 28. She reportedly arrived in New York City and checked into the Metro Hotel at 45 West 35th Street on June 22, where she stayed for four nights.

Police say she has not been since since she checked out of the hotel on June 26.

Sato is 5-foot-5, 105 pounds and does not speak English, cops said.

The NYPD has asked that anyone with information regarding her whereabouts call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or go online to www.crimestoppers.com. All calls are confidential.
