Boston kicks off free summer movies series
Tonight kicks off a month of free, family-friendly film screenings at Boston-area parks as part of the Parks and Recreation Department’s ParkARTS program.
The weekly event, which is sponsored by Bank of America, offers free popcorn provided by AMC Loews Theaters and Skinny Pop Popcorn.
The Boston Children’s Museum will also put on family friendly activities at 7 p.m. leading up to the movies, which will begin at dusk.
Tonight’s film, “The Express,” will be screened at the Hunt/Almont Park on Almont St. in Mattapan.
“Miracle” will be screened on Aug. 5, at Medal of Honor Park on East 1st Street in South Boston, “ParaNorman” will be screened on Aug. 12 at Blackstone Square on Washington Street in the South End, “Madagascar 3” will be screened on Thursday, Aug. 15 at Adams Park on Washington Street in Roslindale, “We Are Marshall” will be screened on Aug. 19, at Billings Field on LaGrange Street in West Roxbury and “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” will be screened on Aug. 26 at Iacono Playground on Readville Street in Hyde Park.
