Anthony Weiner’s embattled campaign took another hit late Tuesday evening when a Talking Points Memo story relayed an expletive-laden rant by Weiner spokeswoman Barbara Morgan.

In a conversation on an unrelated topic, Morgan reportedly lashed out at a former campaign intern, Olivia Nuzzi, who penned a tell-all piece in Tuesday’s New York Daily News in which she referenced Morgan’s professional experience condescendingly and recounted an incident in which Weiner reportedly called multiple staffers “Monica” after insisting he could remember all of their names.

“I’m dealing with like stupid f—ing interns who make it on to the cover of the Daily News even though they signed NDAs and/or they proceeded to trash me,” Morgan reportedly said to Talking Points Memo, referring to non-disclosure agreements. “F—ing slutbag. Nice f—ing glamour shot on the cover of the Daily News. Man, see if you ever get a job in this town again.”

Morgan also reportedly called Nuzzi a “twat,” a “b—h,” and a “c—t.”

The reactions from all involved were swift: Nuzzi quickly changed her Twitter bio to read “slutbag, twat and c**t,” and Morgan quickly issued an apology.

“In a moment of frustration, I used inappropriate language in what I thought was an off-the-record conversation,” Morgan said. “It was wrong and I am very sorry, which is what I said tonight when I called and emailed Olivia to apologize.”

Talking Points Memo editor and publisher Josh Marshall insisted the conversation was “definitely on the record.”

According to Marshall, TPM contacted Morgan about an unrelated story, and during that conversation, Morgan “launched into these comments about Nuzzi.”
