Temple University sets fundraising record
Temple University brought in a record $65.8 million through fundraising efforts during fiscal year 2013.
The school announced the record fundraising effort Wednesday. Gifts and pledges for scholarships jumped from $8.8 million to $16.5 million between fiscal year 2012 and fiscal year 2013, Temple noted.
“Philanthropy is a vital component of our university’s mission and enterprise,” said Temple University President Neil D. Theobald in a statement. “It has a tremendous impact on our students by keeping the costs of their educations down, as well as providing the spaces and resources they need to live, work and grow.”
The school says it received gifts and pledges from 45,567 donors.
Temple’s previous single-year fundraising high was $65.4 million, in 2008.
