A South Jersey woman who posed as a doctor and claimed employees at restaurants and retail stores stained her designer suit apparently ran the scam one too many times.

Police in Langhorne and Bensalem worked with their colleagues across the Delaware River in Cherry Hill, N.J., to bust Denise Faustino, 48, of Hainesport, Burlington County, on a host of theft-related charges, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

Faustino told investigators she learned the scam on the Internet, and admitted she has pulled it off on several occasions in New Jersey, police said.

Faustino allegedly showed up at two Langhorne restaurants – Bella Tori and Langhorne Hotel — on July 24 with claims a server at each spilled soup or an entree on her Chanel suit during a June 20 visit, the paper reports. She became irate in both situations, according to the report, and demanded to be paid on the spot for the dry-cleaning. While the bill she presented was for $183.50, she only asked each restaurant for $83.50.

Faustino is also accused of stealing $15 from a server’s purse at one restaurant.

Earlier on July 24, Faustino allegedly pulled the scam at Kohl’s on Street Road in Bensalem. In that alleged incident, she claimed to be an orthopedic surgeon and asserted she got makeup on her suit during a visit to the store three weeks earlier.
