Hot air balloon lands in tree in Camden County
A hot air balloon made an “unscheduled landing” in a tree in the Erial section of Gloucester Township, Camden County, Thursday evening, police there said.
The incident happened on Del Sordo Lane about 7:20 p.m., Gloucester Township Patch reports.
The pilot and two juvenile passengers were stuck about 50 feet above the ground when the balloon got stuck in the tree. With the help of emergency rescue crews, the pilot was able to get herself and her passengers back on the ground.
No one was injured in the incident.
“The pilot reported her landing was hampered by a thermo draft, which resulted in the balloon being pushed into the tree,” police reported.
