Bear chases pet donkeys down New Hampshire street
It was mayhem on the streets of Hollis, New Hampshire last week after a bear broke into a donkey pen and chased the terrified animals about a half-mile.
According to a report by The Nashua Telegraph, the black bear had been previously spotted in the area, but last Sunday became more than a nuisance when it led a neighbor on a 20-minute car chase.
“I said to my husband, quick come up and look. It looks like ponies, and there’s a huge black bear running after them… I just wanted to scare the bear,” Nancy Ploof, who lives nearby, told The Telegraph.
The donkeys – Rosa and her 2-year-old son, Jester – are miniature donkeys, not much bigger than a Great Dane, according to the report.
The chase ended well for the donkeys, which were unharmed, and the bear, which according to the report took off into the woods and is not being sought.
