A new study conducted by Edge Shave Gel shows that Boston is an irritating place for men.

The Edge Anti-Irritation Index, released today, looked at the geographical influences on irritation for men in the United States. With extremely high rent and expensive pro sports ticket prices, Boston made the list as a top irritating city for guys’ wallets.

In order to ease Bostonian men’s frustrations, Edge Shave Gel is offering prizes to “irritated citizens” on Twitter at @EdgeShaveZone using the hashtag #SoIrritating.

A representative for Edge said the brand has “pioneered irritation relief with a collection of moisturizing and protecting shave gels,” hence the irritation study.

“Edge shave gel relieves guys’ irritation every day in front of the mirror,” said Jeffrey C. Wolf, senior brand manager at Energizer Personal Care. “The Edge Irritation Solutions campaign is a natural extension of our overarching anti-irritation platform, bringing irritation relief when guys need it most, whether it’s sending a car when he can’t get a cab or replacing a busted laptop with a brand new version.”

Other cities to make the list include: Chicago, due to high unemployment; New York, due to high rent; and Baltimore, due to a high crime rate. Philadelphia, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Washington, D.C., also made the list.
