The second man allegedly involved in the Queen Village cab driver stabbing over the holiday weekend has been arrested and charged, police announced today.

Alejandro Gonzalez, 22, was arrested early this morning at his home in the 1100 block of South Ninth Street. He’s been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and related charges.

Luis Moreno, 21, also from the 1100 block of South Ninth Street, was arrested and charged with the same offenses.

The cab driver about 1:17 a.m. Monday pulled his taxi over on the 900 block of South Front Street to let the two men out. The first offender appeared to be getting money out of his wallet to pay the fare near the driver’s side window when the second offender began to stab the driver. The first offender also started to stab the driver, police said.

Police said the driver took the knife from the first man and started to stab him. That’s when the second man stabbed the driver in his head.

The two men stole $205 and fled.

The cabbie drove to Front and South streets where he flagged down cops and was taken to Jefferson Hospital. He suffered 11 superficial stab woulds to his head, arm, chest, hand and neck. He’s still listed in stable condition.

Moreno’s bail has been set at $100,000.
