One dead, one hurt in SW Philadelphia double shooting
One man was killed and a second was injured by gunfire in Southwest Philadelphia Wednesday night.
The double shooting happened about 9:38 p.m. on the 6100 block of Buist Avenue, near Dewey Street, police said.
The 22-year-old man who died was shot several times in the head and back. Police rushed the victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) for treatment after finding him lying in the roadway, but he was pronounced dead at 2:47 this morning.
Police have not released the name of the man killed in the gunfire.
The second victim was shot in the left thigh. Police, who heard the gunfire while on patrol, found him in the breezeway to 2600 S. Robinson St.
The 24-year-old man was listed in stable condition at HUP this morning.
