The unlicensed driver who crashed into a group of bicyclists participating in a charity ride in Hampton, N.H., on Saturday will face charges, including two counts of negligent homicide and two counts of second-degree assault.

Darieann Hess is being held on $50,000 bond in the deaths of Elise Bouchard, 52, of Danvers, Mass., and 60-year-old Pamela Wells of South Hamilton, Mass., NECN reports.

According to authorities, the crash was caused by excessive speeding and lack of paying attention to the road while driving.

Hess was pulled over for speeding just hours before crashing into the cyclists. Hess was speeding at 59 mph in a 30 mph zone at 12:45 a.m. Saturday while driving over the Neil R. Underwood Bridge, the Union Leader reported. She was issued a must-appear court summons by police for the speeding violation, as well as driving without a valid license.

Hess will appear in court at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
