A Philadelphia man is accused of setting fire to a Collingdale apartment last month in an act of revenge after the resident there ended their romantic relationship and then their friendship.

Kalyl D. Poindexter, 29, of Hadfield Street, was arraigned this week on multiple offenses, including arson, possession an instrument of crime, risking a catastrophe, burglary and stalking, the Delaware County Daily Times reports.

Poindexter allegedly set fire to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment on the 500 block of MacDade Boulevard on Sept. 24. Clothes he had bought for the victim were found burned in a bedroom closet, and a firefighter discovered the oven was on and four stove burners lit inside the apartment.

The victim ended her friendship with Poindexter on Sept. 18, several days after she had given him keys to her apartment so he could retrieve his belongings. He was argumentative when he returned the keys, attempting to prevent the victim from closing her apartment door, she claimed.

The victim told police Poindexter had been sending her text messages and calling her with threats against her and her friend.

In addition to the fire, the victim reported a 50-inch TV and some personal items missing.
