A baseball fan who thought he scored a $6 ticket to Wednesday’s World Series Game on StubHub will make out even better now that the listing was discovered to be a fraud.

The seat, located in right field box 9, was listed on StubHub for $3, plus fees. The buyer, Erik, provided Deadspin with a redacted receipt showing the online transaction.

At first, it seemed the cause for the cheap seat may have been a misplaced decimal point, as the cheapest ticket in that section is listed at $759, however StubHub later said that Erik got scammed.

“A recent sale for a $6 ticket to Game 1 of the 2013 World Series ticket has proven to be a fraudulent listing,” StubHub said in a statement today.

“Per company policy, the sale has been cancelled and StubHub will make it right for the buyer by providing replacement tickets in a comparable location at our expense.”

The average ticket price for a World Series game at Fenway Park is around $1,704 for fans who buy their ticket on the secondary market, according to the Boston Business Journal.
