Bucks County native mauled by cougar in Oregon sanctuary
A Bucks County native was killed by a cougar in Oregon over the weekend.
Renee Radziwon, 36, of Portland, was mauled by the cougar at WildCat Haven in Sherwood, Ore., on Saturday while cleaning out an animal enclosure, NBC10 reports.
Radziwon, who is from Fairless Hills, had worked at the sanctuary as an animal care technician and head keeper for eight years.
Carol Radziwon told The Associated Press her daughter had complained about unsafe working conditions at WildCat Haven. The animal sanctuary released a statement indicating Radziwon broke protocol by being in the enclosure alone.
While two cougars were in the enclosure when Radziwon’s body was discovered, it is believed only one of the animals killed her.
