Boston Marathon Bombings top Google’s annual Zeitgeist report
The bombings at the Boston Marathon was the most-searched event of 2013, according to Google’s annual Zeitgeist report.
The annual list, which compiles the popular search engine’s most common search terms, shows the marathon bombings topping the list of event searches, followed by the government shutdown, the MTV Video Music Awards, the tornadoes in Oklahoma and the birth of the royal baby.
The horrific events at the Boston Marathon, however, did not reach the number one slot of “top trending” terms. That went to “Fast and the Furious” star Paul Walker, who died last month in a fiery car accident.
The Zeitgeist lists are meant to gauge the interests of Internet users around the world. To explore the rest of the Zeitgeist list, click here.
