JFK flights resume after plane skids off icy runway
Flights at John F. Kennedy International Airport were suspended for about an hour on Sunday morning so the icy tarmac could be salted after a plane skidded off the runway, officials said.
An Endeavor Air flight out of Toronto made a safe landing but slid into a snowbank as it turned to begin taxiing off the runway around 8 a.m. None of the 35 people aboard were injured and the plane was towed to the gate.
Flights have resumed but the Port Authority is advising traveling to check with their carriers before making plans.
The FAA is investigating the incident.
