More than 2,000 Boston potholes filled in two weeks
City workers have filled 2,192 potholes throughout Boston in the last two weeks.
The repair push is part of a campaign to smooth city streets before temperatures rise — which will create more potholes.
Department of Public Works crews hit the streets each day last week to cover 800 miles of roadways as the department continues to perform snow and ice control duties.
“On Day One of my administration, I spoke with Interim Commissioner Dennehy about the importance of keeping our roads in good shape for our residents and visitors,” Mayor Martin Walsh said in a prepared statement. “I especially want to thank our Public Works crews for their hard work over the past two weeks as we prepare for our first storm together.”
