‘Today’ highlights BPS kid policies
NBC’s “Today Show” did a segment on the North End’s Eliot School yesterday, highlighting the fact that Boston is one of few cities to offer full-day kindergarten to 4-year-olds.
The segment is part of NBC’s week-long programming on education. Mayor Thomas Menino, Boston Public Schools superintendent Carol Johnson and middle school teacher Noah Patel are in New York City today for a national education summit at NBC headquarters.
Patel is a six-year veteran teacher in Boston who teaches 6th and 7th grade math at The Roosevelt School in Hyde Park. Patel was one of just 40 teachers nationwide who was selected to attend the conference.
