In court outburst, murder suspect claims innocence

One of the men accused of murdering four people in Mattapan — including a 2-year-old — loudly and adamantly protested the charges against him during his Superior Court arraignment yesterday.

“F—ing lies,” shouted Dwayne Moore, 33, as a clerk read the indictment charging him with murder. “I didn’t f—ing do this s—, man.”

Moore swayed back and forth with his head down, shaking it in disagreement with the accusations. About a dozen court officers surrounded him during his outburst.

They urged Moore to relax and sit down, but clearly agitated, he cursed again and said he didn’t want to.

Some of the family of the four victims who were fatally shot on Woolson Street in September kept their heads down while others cried. They did not speak after the arraignment.

Prosecutors said Moore was one of two people who shot the five victims in a home invasion and robbery in which the defendants took 28 grams of cocaine, other drugs and a safe from the home.

The surviving victim, 32-year-old Marcus Hurd, is still in critical condition in a hospital and is paralyzed from the shoulders down, prosecutors said.

Moore’s co-defendants will be arraigned at a later date.
