On the Esplanade: Several tipped boats, five arrests
According to the Massachusetts State Police, no major incidents arose from the celebration on the Esplanade yesterday during the fireworks display.
Five arrests and several capsized boats topped the list of calls the department responded to during the celebration at the Hatch Shell on Sunday and Monday.
A press release issued by the department one day after the July 4 holiday said no major security breaches or threats interrupted the events on the Charles River.
Troopers performed coordinated crowd and traffic patrols where thousands of spectators gathered for both the rehearsal and the main event at the Hatch Shell.
