Blue Ivy: Beyonce’s baby has same name as Boston business

Veronica Alexandra

Ever since Beyonce — yes, that Beyonce — coincidentally named her new baby daughter after a Boston-based party-planning company, Blue Ivy, owner Veronica Alexandra has been “inundated with calls.”

“It’s out of control,” Alexandra said, switching back and forth between calls during an interview with Metro. “That was CNN that just called.”

Alexandra, 31, reached out to TMZ.com when news broke about Beyonce  and Jay-Z’s obscure name choice for their bundle of joy, according to the Globe. She said she would love to be part of the party-planning process for any future baby celebrations.

“I’m pretty positive this is going to be huge,” said Alexandra. “If you’re going to name your baby  the same as [an event-planning] company, wouldn’t you want them to throw your party? I’m going to offer.”

Alexandra said the strange coincidence that has led to numerous calls, e-mails and business inquiries will set her back a day at work, but the free advertising will be worth it.

“It’s obviously going to spike people’s interest, and we are going to enjoy the scenario,” she said.

Analyzing the name

According to NYDailyNews, the name “Blue Ivy” could be a play on Jay-Z’s “Blueprint” album and the music couple’s infatuation with the number “4,” as     in the Roman numeral IV, or I and V
