The Real World casting coming to Boston
For those of you not into the idea of a “Southie Pride” reality series being filmed in Boston, maybe you would like to try and get on MTV, instead.
Casting Directors from Bunim/Murray Productions, creators of “The Real World,” are on the hunt for some fresh meat for Season 28 of the show and are holding auditions this month here in the Hub.
Although they haven’t said where the actual show will be filmed, Bostonians can still take a crack at getting on the small screen.
The show’s creators say they are looking for “people with strong personalities who are unafraid to speak their minds.”
If that doesn’t sound like the loud and proud people of the Bay State, we don’t know what does.
Here are some other “characters” they are looking to cast, according to a press release:
-Those who have challenges living an everyday life that most take for granted
-Struggling with weight issues
-Affected by a natural disaster
-Products of home or alternative schooling
-Followers of unrecognized or non-mainstream belief systems
-Recent graduates affected by the economic downturn
-Those involved with goth, emo, or punk subculture,
-Those who are recently single due to a tragedy
If you think you fit any of those categories, head down to Lansdowne Street Saturday, March 24 and share your personal experiences with the suits behind the cameras.
Of course, the casting directors said anyone is free to audition. You don’t have to be an Emo-hipster whose girlfriend just died and is now living with a debilitating illness after graduating from college, still without a job.
But it might help your chances.
Applicants are asked to bring a recent picture of themselves and photo ID. You must be 21 years or older by March 1, 2013.
