Boston man arrested for allegedly tagging MBTA tunnels

Alex Wan, 23, Boston, was arrested over the weekend for allegedly tagging the inside of an MBTA tunnel with the words "Hot Sauce" and "Hot Love."

A Boston man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly spray-painting the words “Hot,” “Sauce,” and “Love” inside an MBTA underground tunnel.

Transit Police arrested Alex Wan, 23, and charged him with malicious defacing of property and walking on railroad property.

According to Transit Police reports, officers from Northeastern University saw Wan exiting the tunnel, along the tracks, near Huntington and Massachusetts Avenues.

When stopped by officers from the university, Wan said he was just going home, according to reports.
When Transit police arrived to speak to Wan, they noticed black and white paint on both of his hands and fingertips, police said.

Two officers walked into the tunnel where Wan was coming from and found red graffiti on the left side that stretched approximately 50-75 feet in length. In the stretch of graffiti there was the word “HOT” in red lettering.

According to police, further down, the word “SAUCE” was written.

On the opposite side of the tunnel the word “HOT” with black “bubble” lettering was filled in with silver paint, according to police.

On the right side of the tunnel next to the word “HOT” was the word “LOVE” written with red paint, which was “tacky to the touch and had a strong odor of paint emanating from the wall,” according to reports.

Wan was arrested, and when officers searched his bag they allegedly found work gloves, colored shoe polish, a bandana, markers, and multiple cans of spray paint.
