Boloco and Cakes for Occasions among Chamber of Commerce’s top small businesses

The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce today announced the winners of its 2012 Small Business of the Year Awards, which recognizes 10 small, high-growth businesses.

Meridian Associates topped the list as the chamber’s “Small Business of the Year,” followed by Ace Ticket, and Boloco.

Other small businesses that took the cake: Cakes for Occasions, Fox RPM Corp, Life is good, Nexcelom Bioscience LLC, SCVNGR, Seniorlink and Veson Nautical

The companies all have a gross revenues of more than $1 million, and according to the chamber, display a strong financial performance, achievement in management, workplace excellence, product innovation, and community or  social responsibility.
 
“The Chamber is delighted to honor Greater Boston’s ‘Top 10’ small businesses of 2012 and pay tribute to the significant impact that small businesses have on our regional economy,” said Paul Guzzi, president & CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber, adding that the companies “represent the entrepreneurial spirit, focus on excellence, and commitment to the community that define our region’s small business community.”
