Boston University officials are eager to catch the group of young men robbing members of the college’s community and are putting their money where their mouth is.

The school is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of one or more of the young men believed to be behind the string of armed robberies involving Boston University students including one that occurred Tuesday night.

Police today also released surveillance video of three young men who are believed to be the robbers.

At about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday a female student was walking near 808 Commonwealth Ave., when she was approached by two young men armed with a gun, according to police. They demanded her possessions, but fled when she refused to hand over her iPhone.

The suspects in the recent robbery were described as black men between 16 and 20 years old. Both were wearing hooded sweatshirts.

Patrols in the area were increased by Brookline and Boston University police after the second robbery.

On Friday, a recent BU graduate student was held up by three young men who showed a handgun and took the man’s iPhone, wallet and keys. That robbery occurred near St. Paul and Thatcher streets – one block from Egmont Street where the second robbery occurred Sept. 25.

The first robbery occurred Sept. 23 on Hamilton Road.

So far there have been no injuries.

Authorities urged those walking in the area to be aware of their surroundings.

If anyone has information or sees something suspicious, authorities said to call 617-353-2121.

Video of the suspects can be seen below:
