Long lines at polling places as Boston area voters cast ballots
Voting is underway in Massachusetts as most polls opened at 7 a.m. and those hoping to cast their ballot early were stuck waiting in line.
Many people took to Twitter this morning as they had little else to do while waiting in line to vote. Some people reported waiting in line for nearly an hour this morning.
Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and his wife already cast their ballots in Belmont just before 9 a.m. Senate hopeful and Democrat Elizabeth Warren also cast her ballot in Cambridge this morning.
Because of the close national election as well as a tight senate race here in the Bay State, state officials are predicting close to record voter turnout today with more than 3 million people heading to the polls.
