US Trendy names Boston’s most fashionable

Here is US Trendy's list of Boston's most fashionable.

A Boston-based website that helps designers make a name for themselves in the fashion industry is fed up with outof-towners hating on the Hub’s fashion sense, so it put together a list of the city’s most fashionable people.

Last week, US Trendy released its first “Boston’s 50 Most Fashionable” list to let the world, and GQ Magazine, know that the city doesn’t deserve its frumpy-fashion reputation.

“The question I get most when I’m traveling is, ‘Why are you running the website from Boston?’” said Sam Sisakhti, founder and CEO of US Trendy. “I’m so tired of hearing it. There are a lot of fashionable people here. It was time to show that.”

Topping the most fashionable list is television news anchor Kim Khazei.

The list isn’t a “best dressed” roundup, Sisakhti said, but rather focuses on the Bostonian’s influence on fashion.

“The way (Khazei) carries herself, her presence, her style; so many people respect her. Her influence on Boston and young women played a role, and the way she commands the camera,”  Sisakhti.

Gisele Bundchen scored the number two spot, a no-brainer considering her supermodel status.
Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman also made the cut.

In July, Raisman told US Weekly that she’d like to pursue a fashion designing career, saying, “When I’m older, I want to have my own workout clothes line, like leggings and cute jackets in bright and fun colors.”

“In the traditional sense of best dressed, I would never expect to be on a list like that,” said Boston Fashion Week creator Jay Calderin, who came in at number 29.

“But fashion is so much more than that. There are so many people in fashion who aren’t on the front lines dressing to the nines, but they are still making Boston more fashionable.”
