Police find guns, counterfeiting operation inside Bronx teen’s room

Police found bullets, guns and counterfeit money inside Leopold Hines' bedroom.

A Bronx teen was arrested Friday after police found firearms and counterfeit money inside his bedroom.

Leopold Hines, 18, had stored a .38-caliber revolver, a shotgun and ammunition in a duffel bag, according to police, who received permission from Hines’ mother to search his closet. Hines also allegedly had $1,491 in fake cash, plus paper, a laptop and a printer capable of running off more counterfeit bills.

Joseph Arzu, 18, and Harvey Nelson, 19 – who were in Hines’ 3rd Avenue apartment near 170th Street at the time – were likewise arrested.
