The Sixers have one thing going for them: their owner has some of the deepest pockets in town.

Joshua Harris, who owns a majority stake of the Philadelphia 76ers, was the only local team owner listed on Forbes annual billionaires list.

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie was on last years list, but after he divorced his wife of 20 years, his bank account has slipped somewhat.

Harris, a New York-based leveraged buyout specialist, gained $600 million in the past year after the company he co-founded, Apollo Global Management, went public in 2011. He is worth an estimated $2.1 billion, which ranks him 243 in the country and 704 in the world.

Harris, 48, bought the team, along with nine others, for about $280 million from Comcast in 2011. Harris is a 1986 graduate of Penn’s Wharton School.

Philadelphia resident Richard Hayne, chairman of Urban Outfitters, was also listed with an estimated worth of $1.6 billion. Hayne, a Lehigh University graduate, ranked 309 in the United States and 931 in the world.
